Ok, "48 Hrs." Came out in 1982... well, while I was watching I saw Ajax from the Warriors... then while I folded clothes, I heard the name Luther. I told my dad, "Isn't ironic that Ajax is in this movie, and there is another guy named Luther, just like Luther from the Warriors who clanked the bottles in the iconic "Come out to Play" scene?" Were they intentionally giving the 3 year old movie a node of respect I wondered, then I look up at the screen and saw that the Luther in 48 Hrs was actually the Luther from the Warriors! It was the same actor, same name, different movie, different (but still bad news) character. Then about 20 more minutes in to the film, there was Rembrandt, also a Warrior from the 1979 hit flick! So I'm thinking, "OK, whats the correlation?" I head for Google and it was as I thought, it was the same director! I figured as much, since even the chase scene music was very similar as well. Too bad it wasn't in the same universe as the Warriors movie, because I highly doubt that Luther came out of that last scene still kicking. Oh and there was one more guy that was in 48 Hrs as well, except he wasn't a gang member, he was a cop, one of the ones that chased Fox in the Subway scene (Also he was that Big Indian Guy in "Predator") So that makes 4. Sadly I also found out that Rembrandt died in real life, at the young age of 28 from AIDS related Cancer, about 4 yrs later after 48 Hrs.
They've pushed the Warriors Remake back for sooo many years now, like 10 I beleive, and now the one who was going to do it, (Tony Scott) passed away awhile back. Well until then I guess, I'll check out this mini series based 4 months after the movie, "Warriors:Jailbreak"
